Act as if what you do makes a difference. It does. -William James
Get up from the computer for a second, and walk over to your closet or bookshelf...the one where
you stick all the games, books, or toys. Look around, take everything in for a second, and then think about the last year.
Now...say the name of every game you own that you haven't played in that year.
Monopoly...Parcheesi...Boggle...Milles Borne...that RPG you won in that contest at that convention last fall and never
have gotten around to checking out...that extra copy of Trivial Pursuit you got for your wedding (still shrink wrapped)...how
many brand new or unplayed decks of cards are in that box?
Now look at the games you do play: how much do those cost, and how fun are they? Some family would love to play that
game this Christmas, wouldn't they? Ticket To Ride? Carcassonne? Life? Checkers? The place you bought your copy is still there
in town, aren't they?
Game drives combine the best parts of your own birthday with the best parts of your friends' birthdays: people stop by
and give you things, which is cool. And then you turn around and give a huge stack of toys and games and books to
some people who will absolutely love them. Game drives take a little effort to organize, but the results are worth it.
